If "slow and heavy" are the words you use to describe the kind of stoner doom you dig, then you are definitely gonna dig the new album from Greece's CATAPULT THE SUN called “Dark Sun Festivities.” These guys deliver poundingly slow riffs and keep delivering them until your brain has been beaten into submission. And what I really dig is that they add a layer of haunting creepiness, as if they are playing these brain-busters from a graveyard. This album definitely veers into drone territory, which makes this album one of my favorites of the year thus far.
